The Continuing Blend of American Hymnody: A Weekend with Dr. Carol Doran, April 17th and 18th.
Carol Ann Doran, Professor of Music and Liturgy and Seminary Organist at Virginia Theological Seminary, received her Doctoral of Musical Arts in 1970 from the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester. She has previously taught at Colgate Rochester Divinity School and The Eastman School of Music. Dr. Doran’s list of publications includes several books, articles, and hymn and organ music. She is a former member of the Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music of the Episcopal Church. Dr. Doran wrote the curriculum “Teaching New Music to Congregations” for the Leadership Program for Musicians. Elizabeth Kralik sent in the pictures below.
