Bishop Black Chapel

This chapel is named for Bishop William Black and his wife June. They were at Good Shepherd from 1962-1973 before Rev. Bill Black was elected bishop of the Diocese of Southern Ohio.

This wonderfull altar piece was carved by John Rood
who was a professor of sculpture at Ohio University.

Bishop Black Chapel is located directly across from the lower entrance. From the narthex (lobby) on the main floor, take the stairs down to the right and the Chapel is the second door on left. It can accommodate up to about 40 persons.

The Anglican 8:00 am service is held in Bishop Black Chapel and the Greek community's Orthodox services and other special services take place there as well.

The Chapel/classroom area was originally a stage. With the support of the Greek community the Chapel underwent major refurbishings during the 1980s.
